Lent at the Downtown Catholic Churches

The Stations of the Cross will be prayed each Friday of Lent
  • at the Cathedral of Saint Peter after 12:10 pm Mass
  • at Saint Patrick at 7 pm, followed by Benediction
Also, please join us for a Soup & Salad Supper on Fridays, February 20th, March 13th, and March 27th from 6–7 pm in Saint Patrick church hall.

Lenten Regulations
  • The Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence from meat for those 14 or older.
  • Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are also days of fasting for those 18 to 59. Fasting is having only one full meal to maintain one’s strength. Two smaller meals are permitted according to one’s needs, but they should not together equal the one full meal. Eating between meals is forbidden.
  • These can be observed as a spiritual discipline by those who are not required by law to do so and throughout Lent.

About Us
The Downtown Catholic Churches are individual parishes administered by the one pastoral team. Though we worship in three churches, we strive to form a common community to be the Lord's witnesses in downtown Wilmington.
